Real Salt Lake re-signs D Olave
Nov 24, 2008 - 10:23 PM SALT LAKE CITY(Ticker) -- Real Salt Lake on Monday re-signed defender Jamison Olave through the 2012 season.Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Colombian became the second South American native to sign a long-term pact with Salt Lake in the last two months, joining Argentine midfielder Javier Morales.
Olave started 23 of the team's final 26 contests this season, finishing with two goals.
"We are excited to have re-signed Jamison. He was a key player in turning Real Salt Lake around this season and we are happy he has decided to make a long-term commitment to us," Salt Lake general manager Garth Lagerwey said.
"Retaining his physical presence in the center of our defense solidifies a key position as we look to build on the success of 2008 and have an even better 2009 season."
