	hangtime79 The punt was with ~2 minutes remaining in regulation after Manning was sacked at the 1 yard line. Indy was still up by 3 and could have taken the safety. By punting rather then taking the safety SD received a gift. SD only needed 10 yards to get into range to tie the game after the punt and 38 yards to possibly win. If Indy had taken the safety, they would have received a free kick from the 20. This would have spotted SD at roughly their own 30 - 35 yard line with no timeouts remaining and needing 35 - 40 yards to get Kaeding in range to win. Given the Colts D sorry performance on 3rd downs I would rather have taken the safety and given the D a little more room in which to work. Ultimately, this game came down to field position, SD had great position most of the game and the Colts field position was awful all game (thank the SD punter who will be in Canton if he keeps those performances up). By not recognizing this the Colts killed their season. Jan 4 8:51 AM
