Sparks C Leslie gives birth to baby girl
Jun 16, 2007 - 1:26 AM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Sparks center Lisa Leslie gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Friday, the team announced.Leslie and her husband Michael Lockwood welcomed Lauren Jolie Lockwood into the world at 4:11 a.m. PST at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, weighing in at 8 pounds, 11 ounces.
"We are thrilled for Lisa and Michael," Sparks co-owner Kathy Goodman said. "We extend our best wishes to the family. What a tremendous way to celebrate Father's Day weekend."
A three-time WNBA Most Valuable Player, Leslie signed a multi-year contract with Los Angeles in April but still is undetermined when she will return to action.
Leslie has helped the Sparks capture two championships and is the league's all-time leading scorer with 5,412 career points.
