Sparks acquire F Milton-Jones
Apr 22, 2008 - 4:45 PM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Sparks acquired former All-Star forward DeLisha Milton-Jones from the Washington Mystics for Taj McWilliams-Franklin and a 2009 first-round pick, the team announced Tuesday.Milton-Jones played for the Sparks for six seasons, helping Los Angeles to back-to-back championships in 2001 and 2002. She averaged 13.4 points and 6.4 rebounds for Washington last season.
"DeLisha is a very good defensive player and I'm sure she'll bring the same intensity to the Sparks this time as she did the first time," Sparks coach Michael Cooper said. "We'll miss what Taj brought to the team, but wish her all the best in Washington."
McWilliams-Franklin averaged 11.1 points and 5.9 rebounds for the Mystics last season.
