Mystics sign F Wecker
Jun 23, 2008 - 9:05 PM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Washington Mystics on Monday signed forward Kendra Wecker, who was released by the San Antonio Silver Stars before the start of the season.Taken by San Antonio with the fourth overall pick in the 2005 draft, Wecker had spent her entire career with the Silver Stars. Last season, she averaged 5.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in 14 games.
"Kendra gives us experience at the small forward position," Mystics general manager Linda Hargrove said. "She is a strong, versatile player who can shoot the three and compliments our present roster."
To make room for Wecker, Washington waived guard Amber Jacobs.
