Parker headlines All-Rookie Team
Oct 3, 2008 - 3:22 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Sparks forward Candace Parker headlined the WNBA's All-Rookie Team which was announced Friday.Parker, who already had been voted as the unanimous Rookie of the Year, finished her first season fourth in the league in scoring at 18.5 points per game. The Tennessee product led the league in rebounding at 9.5 boards per contest.
Joining Parker on the All-Rookie Team were Minnesota Lynx guard Candace Wiggins, Lynx center Nicky Anosike, Chicago Sky center Sylvia Fowles, Houston Comets guard Matee Ajavon and Connecticut Sun forward Amber Holt. Ajavon and Holt tied for the fifth spot on the team and both were rewarded with a selection.
