Lynx name Petersen assistant coach
Nov 18, 2008 - 9:01 PM MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday hired Jim Petersen as an assistant coach.Petersen, who currently is a television analyst for the Minnesota Timberwolves, will join assistant coaches Jennifer Gillom and Ed Prohofsky on head coach Don Zierden's staff.
"This is a dream come true for me," said Petersen, who never has coached at the professional level. "I've always had a great deal of respect for coaching and have spent my whole life around coaches and the game of basketball."
A native of Minneapolis, Petersen will be responsible for the team's scouting efforts, talent evaluation, and player development.
