0 shoutsWINNIPEG, Manitoba (Ticker) -- Alexis Serna kicked a go-ahead 34-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter and Joe Smith ran for a TD as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers posted a 25-16 victory over the Toronto Argonauts on Friday.
Serna, who missed earlier from 36 yards, put Winnipeg (6-9) up 17-16 with 7:49 to play and Smith's scored from 8 yards with 34 seconds left sealed the win.
Arland Bruce III fumbled a punt return and the Blue Bombers recovered at the Toronto 35, which set up Smith's TD. Smith ran for 101 yards on 12 carries for Winnipeg, which can clinch a playoff spot with a win or a loss by the Argonauts in the final three weeks.
Toronto's loss helped Edmonton (8-6) clinch a playoff spot.
Jamal Robertson had a 2-yard touchdown run and Mike Vanderjagt kicked three field goals for the Argonauts (4-11).
