Angels sign OF Rivera to three-year deal
Dec 19, 2008 - 7:26 PM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Friday agreed to terms on a three-year contract with free-agent outfielder Juan Rivera.Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Rivera, 30, batted .246 with 12 home runs and 45 RBI in 89 games last season - his fourth with the Angels. All of his homers came in a span of 58 games after July 2.
In four seasons with Anaheim, Rivera has batted .282 with 52 homers and 197 RBI in 333 games. He is career .284 hitter in eight seasons with Anaheim, the Montreal Expos and New York Yankees.
Rivera was acquired by the Angels from the Expos in November 2004.
