BILOXI, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Bobby Jackson scored 17 points to lead the New Orleans Hornets to a 92-85 victory over a shorthanded but winless Miami Heat team in exhibition play on Friday.
Jackson amassed his point total over just 18 minutes for the Hornets, who have alternated wins and losses in their five games during the preseason. Chris Paul added 16 points for New Orleans.
Tyson Chandler finished with 11 points and nine rebounds while David West and former Heat member Rasual Butler poured in 10 points apiece.
Udonis Haslem scored 20 points over 41 minutes for the Heat, who opted not to play Shaquille O'Neal (bruised left quadriceps) and Dwyane Wade (knee and shoulder surgeries) among several other players nursing injuries, including several who are competing for a roster spot.
Anfernee Hardaway saw his first action as a member of the Heat after sitting out the first four preseason games with a quadriceps injury sustained early in training camp. He played 24 minutes but did not score.
