MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Rudy Gay scored 22 points to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 104-98 preseason victory over the Miami Heat on Saturday night.

A second-year forward out of Connecticut, Gay was almost perfect on the night, hitting all six of his shots from the field, including 5-of-5 from 3-point range. His only miss came at the free-throw line.

Stromile Swift added 16 points, including 13 in the first quarter, to help the Grizzlies jump to a 40-28 lead after the first 12 minutes.

Memphis hit five 3-pointers in the opening quarter and finished 10-of-20 from the arc in just its third preseason game.

Brian Chase scored 19 points to lead the injury-wracked Heat, who again were without superstars Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade and fell to 0-6 on the preseason.

Jeremy Richardson and Jason Williams were also in double figures with 15 and 11 points, respectively, for Miami, which was 8-of-14 from the arc.

In his second game of the preseason with the Heat, Anfernee Hardaway had two points and six rebounds in 15 minutes.
