DALLAS (Ticker) -- Dallas Mavericks forward Josh Howard's judgment again has come into question.
In a video posted on YouTube, Howard was filmed disrespecting the national anthem.
At Allen Iverson's charity flag football game in July, Howard made the remarks while "The Star Spangled Banner" was being performed. He said: "I don't celebrate this (expletive). I'm black."
Howard also went on to make a reference about Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban told the Dallas Morning News that the team dealt with Howard after the incident.
"That said, we will be going through some advanced communication-skill sessions together this training camp," Cuban said. "I have explained to him that cellphone cameras are not your friend and that what you think you said on camera is never what people will hear when it shows up on YouTube or TV."
The national anthem incident was just the latest episode for Howard, who in July also was arrested for speeding , careless and reckless driving. He has a court date scheduled for September 23.
During last season's playoffs, Howard also admitted he is an occasional marijuana user.
Howard, who also upset coach then-coach Avery Johnson by throwing a birthday party during last season's first-round playoff series against New Orleans, was the subject of trade rumors this offseason. The 2003 first-round pick has career averages of 15.2 points and 6.4 rebounds in 348 games.
