Blazers G Roy to miss second straight game

Jan 3, 2009 - 3:02 AM PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- Portland Trail Blazers leading scorer Brandon Roy will miss his second straight game on Friday as his team hosts the New Orleans Hornets.

The All-Star guard did not play in Tuesday's victory over the Boston Celtics due to a hamstring injury. It has not been determined how much more time he will miss.

Roy, who is scoring 23.0 points per game, had told the Oregonian on Wednesday that he was probable to play against the Hornets.

Rookie guard Rudy Fernandez will get the start in Roy's place.
