    Auburn (3-3) at No. 14 Xavier (6-0), 8:00 p.m. EST

CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- With three of its top six scorers gone from the team that reached the regional finals last season, Xavier was expected to take a step back this season. Thus far, that hasn't happened.

The 14th-ranked Musketeers shoot for their seventh straight win when they host Auburn on Wednesday.

Xavier is off to its best start since the 1996-97 campaign, when it won its first 10 contests.

Defense has been a key for the Musketeers, who are allowing 58.7 points per contest.

Derrick Brown scored 23 points in Xavier's 60-53 victory over Miami, Ohio on Saturday and continued to lead a balanced scoring attack at 12.7 per game.

The Tigers have dropped two straight games, including a 67-61 setback to Northern Iowa on Saturday.

DeWayne Reed leads Auburn in scoring at 13.8 points per game.

Xavier defeated Auburn, 80-57, last season.
